13th instalment of the interdisciplinary festival, this year with the theme of ice, exploring its physical, geographic, metaphoric, and mythological attributes through sound. The ninth edition of Mexico's only experimental music festival this year takes place under the auspices of the Festival de Mexico, which includes performing arts, theatre, dance, music and literature. Subtitled 'Space for the Exploration of Sound’, Radar is spread over nine days and five venues, including concert halls, old theatres, courtyards and the zocalo, one of the biggest squares in the world. Performers include Boredoms, Tony Conrad, Burkhard Stangl, Charles Gayle Trio, KK Null, a programme of works by Mauricio Kagel, plus a three day music workshop conducted by the the French Metamkine organisation, talks, film screenings and more.
